Dien Chau urgently constructs key irrigation projects

(Baonghean.vn) - To ensure irrigation water for the Winter-Spring crop, Dien Chau is upgrading and repairing a number of key irrigation works.

To proactively ensure adequate water supply for this year's Winter-Spring crop, at the end of October 2016, Dien Phuc commune, Dien Chau district repaired and upgraded an intra-field canal nearly 1km long, stretching from Phuc Thiem hamlet to the commune's water plant, intersecting with National Highway 7. The project has now completed 80% of the plan and is expected to be completed before Tet.

In Dien Ngoc commune, the repair of the Ngoc Tan pumping station irrigation canal is being urgently completed before Tet. This is a repair project with a cost of nearly 1 billion VND. Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Dien Ngoc Commune People's Committee said: Ngoc Tan pumping station is responsible for providing adequate water for this rice area. Currently, the project has completed 80% of the progress and the commune is actively directing the urgent completion to ensure farmers have time to produce the winter-spring crop.

The projects to upgrade and repair intra-field canals in Dien Chau district will be completed before Tet.

To serve irrigation for the 2017 Winter-Spring crop, Dien Chau district has focused on repairing and upgrading many important internal irrigation works such as: Repairing pumping station 18A in Dien Thap with a cost of 450 million VND; irrigation canal, pumping station in Dien Tho commune with a cost of more than 700 million VND. Upgrading irrigation canal, pumping station in Ngoc Tan, Dien Ngoc with a cost of more than 900 million VND; Upgrading internal canal in Dien Binh with a cost of 550 million VND...

These are renovation and upgrading projects based on provincial capital and financial support from the district. The construction time is after the end of the flood in October 2016. Currently, these projects are gradually being completed and ready to serve the winter-spring crop production./.
