Dien Chau: Disseminating legal education to 9th-grade students.
(Baonghean.vn) - By May 22nd, over 700 ninth-grade students from six junior high schools in six coastal communes of Dien Chau district had received legal education and awareness training from officers of Dien Thanh Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard).
Implementing the coordinated plan between the Provincial Border Guard Command and the Provincial Department of Education and Training on disseminating legal education to 9th-grade students in coastal communes and wards of Nghe An province, from May 14-16 and May 20-22, Dien Thanh Border Guard Station, in coordination with the Dien Chau District Education Department, organized legal education dissemination for 716 9th-grade students from 6 junior high schools in 6 coastal communes (Dien Thanh, Dien Trung, Dien Thinh, Dien Hung, Dien Kim, Dien Hai) of Dien Chau district. Senior Lieutenant Bui Hong Manh, Deputy Political Officer of Dien Thanh Border Guard Station, personally presented the information.
Accordingly, students were introduced by officers from the Dien Thanh Border Guard Station to issues concerning: national territory, national borders, the Vietnamese Law of the Sea, and Government Decree 161/2003/ND-CP on the regulations for maritime border areas. At the same time, teachers informed students about current events in the East Sea, especially the incident of China brazenly placing the HD-981 oil rig in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, seriously violating Vietnam's sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction; thereby educating and guiding them to enhance their patriotism in a proper and legitimate way, and to raise their awareness of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands.
