Dien Chau: Train accident, survivors

(Baonghean.vn) - At 10:10 AM on October 19th, another train accident occurred at the level crossing at kilometer 270+750 (in front of the fish hatchery) on the unified railway line in Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district.

At the time of the incident, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1990, residing in Quynh Luu district) was driving a motorbike with license plate 37N2 4740 from a fish hatchery onto National Highway 1A. While crossing the aforementioned level crossing, Mr. Hung was struck by the SE8 express train (traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi), sending both him and his motorbike flying approximately 30 meters from the railway tracks. The motorbike was completely destroyed, and Mr. Hung was injured. He was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment by train staff and personnel from Yen Ly station.

The Reunification Express train had to stop for maintenance, delaying its journey by 30 minutes.
