(Baonghean.vn) - At approximately 9:00 AM on July 11th, a traffic accident occurred on National Highway 1A passing through Dien An commune (Dien Chau district) between a truck and a bicycle, resulting in one fatality.

The scene of the accident

According to witnesses, at the time of the accident, Ms. Doan Thi Bay (approximately 50 years old, residing in Dien Trung commune, Dien Chau district) was riding her bicycle across National Highway 1A in Dien An commune (Dien Chau district). At that moment, a truck with license plate 37C - 092.68, traveling from South to North at high speed, was unable to react in time and crashed directly into the bicycle, dragging Ms. Bay for about 10 meters before stopping.

The accident resulted in Mrs. Bay's immediate death, her body trapped under the front left wheel of the truck. Traffic on the National Highway 1A section passing through Dien An commune was slightly congested.

Reportedly, at the time of the incident, Mrs. Bay was on her way to the market when the accident occurred while she was crossing the road.

By 9:30 AM, traffic police from Dien Chau District Police were present at the scene to regulate traffic and handle the accident.
