At the above time, truck with license plate 37N 2598 carrying a tank of dry cement with license plate 37R 0096 was traveling on National Highway 1A at km 409 + 700 (Dien Truong commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An) in the direction of Hanoi - Vinh when it suddenly crashed into the rear of truck with license plate 29D 4733 traveling in the same direction ahead. The collision was so strong that the front of the tanker truck was crushed, one person (identity not yet determined) was seriously injured, stuck in the front of the tanker truck and had to be taken to the emergency room by locals at night.

Traffic police are directing the towing of the crashed car from the scene.

The accident caused a serious traffic jam on both sides of the road under construction for dozens of kilometers at night. Dien Chau Traffic Police promptly arrived to clear and regulate traffic.

According to the driver of 29D 4733 who was hit in the back, he discovered the tanker driver had fallen asleep while driving parallel to the Thanh Hoa section, so he overtook him earlier. When the tanker driver was startled and saw a patrolling traffic police officer, he crashed into his car, causing him minor injuries.
