Electricity conducts storm prevention drills level 12 in Nghe An

During the drill, hundreds of electricity workers handled incidents of lightning protection lines and telecommunication optical cables in simulated situations of incidents on the 110kV line 175 E15.1 Hung Dong - 171 E15.8 Cua Lo and DZ 373 E15.1, branch of Hung Tay 4 and Hung Tay 8 transformer stations managed by Nghi Loc Electricity.

According to Mr. Le Minh Tuan - Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation, this drill was organized in the face of increasingly complicated weather conditions, to proactively respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, minimize property damage; at the same time, quickly restore power supply, ensure safety for workers, and electrical safety for the people.

The hypothetical situation was given with a level 10 storm, gusting to level 12, making landfall in Nghi Loc and Cua Lo districts, damaging a series of conductors and optical fiber lightning protection wires (OPGW) of the 110 kV line 175 E15.1 Hung Dong - 171 E15.8 Cua Lo.

As soon as receiving the information, the PCTT&TKCN Command Board of the Corporation held a meeting, assigned tasks to members, and sent urgent telegrams to units.

Determining that the eye of the storm entering Nghe An area could cause major consequences for the power grid, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue was moved to the headquarters of Nghe An Power Company and sent working groups to inspect, coordinate, and direct the Nghe An High Voltage Power Grid Branch, Nghi Loc Power Company, Cua Lo Power Company... to prepare according to the 4-on-the-spot motto, ready to respond and quickly overcome the consequences of the storm and post-storm circulation.
