The pain of losing my mother was the reason I stopped all activities.
- Is there any reason for your disappearance from the entertainment industry for 4 years?
In early 2016, I had to face a great pain - the pain of losing my mother, which was the reason why I stopped all activities and escaped to Singapore. At that time, I had thought about quitting my job and living a peaceful life. But after two years, I missed my job terribly, missed the studio, missed the stage, missed the audience.
I received a lot of messages from fans who were eager to see me return, I was very touched and that was the reason why I strongly encouraged them to come back. The audience still needs me, which means I still have a destiny with the profession, so why miss it when there are so many people who want to do this job but don't have the opportunity?...
- Coming back to attack two fields at the same time, film and music, are you taking on too much?
Music has always been my greatest passion since I was a child. It is my life, my breath, my motivation to overcome all events. I have never intended to give up that passion even though I have thought about quitting my job many times. Everything is possible but not music!
That's why this time, my attack on the music industry was inevitable. Before, I was always hesitant to release products because I was too perfectionist, always doing and then abandoning because I was not satisfied with the product. But since my mother passed away, I think differently, I realize that everything in this life can happen, you can't know what will happen in the future, that's why I can't be leisurely anymore. I need to turn thoughts into actions, to realize the dreams and plans that I have always cherished.
Regarding movies, when I am still invited to act in movies, it means that the audience still wants to see me appear, so as long as the role is good, I will not refuse. But in this field, I am not the one who can take the initiative to appear more or less. If I want to come back, I need to appear more, and music is something within my reach. For me, cinema is a job, a career, and music is a passion, I am completely confident in doing both jobs at the same time.

The actress is not afraid to show hot scenes on screen. |
Confused when filming hot scenes
- In the movie "Old Woman" you had to act in many bold hot scenes, were there any hot scenes that were difficult for you? Was it really as hot on set with the co-stars as the audience saw in the movie?
In the film, there are many scenes where I have to seduce Minh (played by Khoi Tran), to be honest, that is not my forte because in real life I am quite masculine. I have never used my femininity to seduce men. Therefore, I was quite confused by those scenes. In the end, I decided to turn it into a humorous scene in the film, flirting in an awkward way, because the result is that Gia Linh (my character) always fails to attract Minh, so that way of acting is completely reasonable.
- You said you're not afraid of hot scenes or being hated when playing a villain, so what's the strategy for this comeback because the villain role has hot scenes that clearly attract more attention from the audience?
I have not been afraid of playing a villain for a long time because I see the importance of getting the audience to pay attention to my character. Even if I hate it, it is much better than not leaving any mark on the film. Moreover, I have also played many other positive roles so the audience understands me very well and loves me.
As for the hot scenes, in the past, I would always ask the director to cut them because I am quite an old-fashioned person. I am not used to showing those scenes on screen. But now that I am over 30, I have more experience, my thinking is also different, much more open. If it is not too much, and I can put my character on it, I have nothing to worry about.
- For a long time you have been associated with the name "Ugly Girl", it seems that the later films and roles are still not enough for you to overcome the shadow of your first film?
After “Ugly Girl”, there were many films that brought me closer to the audience such as “Pink Dress on the 24th Floor”, “My Wife is Number 1”… but I have to say that people know me best from “Ugly Girl” even though it was the first film I participated in with very little acting experience, if not to say no previous film experience. But at that time, there were not as many films as there are now, “Ugly Girl” was the first sitcom in Vietnam with nearly 200 episodes, not only that, the film was also rebroadcast at the same time on different channels and time slots, so whoever is busy will have watched this film at least once. In the film, I spoke with a Northern accent (the film was recorded live) and was a brand new face so it was easy to attract attention.
Although “Ugly Girl” brought me a lot, I was also very sad when the other roles were not remembered by the audience, because the later roles were the roles that I poured a lot of sweat and tears into. I hope that in the future there will be a role that can make me live again in the hearts of the audience nationwide like Huong in “Ugly Girl”.

I want to inspire "old women"
- Recently you appeared in hot photoshoots, even naked in front of the camera. Is that how you attract the audience's attention for this comeback?
I have never thought of attracting anything like that. If the purpose was to attract, I think my photo albums are too discreet to attract views, just like the journalist said when I sent him my latest photo album with the message "I took a bit bold photos in this one, don't be shocked when you see it". But after skimming through it, he said something that made me surprised: "You said this? There's nothing to see".
The reason I’ve been taking more sexy photos lately is because I’m over 30 years old. Maybe the audience still remembers the “30 sexy” project that I did a few years ago to celebrate my 30th birthday. That was the first sexy photo shoot I took, not until now. Because I’m proud of that, proud of being an “Old Woman” and proud of being single. I want to show the audience the beauty, confidence and attractiveness of women over 30, I want to inspire other women - the “Old Women”.
- In addition to the comments that Minh Khue is sexy, there are also people who say that you choose to show off your body because it's out of date? How will you react to this comment? Have you received any indecent offers after posting such sexy photos?
Just look at the way the press favors me in every activity and they will have their own answer to whether my time has passed or not. Even if I keep my privacy high, I will still release movies, songs and the press will still care, so why should I show off my body to prove it? I see the two things as completely unrelated.
I did get a few over-the-top offers of interest. They probably thought I was signaling a relationship, but they were wrong. “I'm single but I'm not available.”

Minh Khue said she is single but that doesn't mean she is easy. |
Who believes that I don't have men chasing me?
- The audience has almost no information about your private life. Is it possible that a sexy single girl like you doesn't have men pursuing you?
I don't like to share my love life in the media when I'm not sure it's a long-term relationship. Who believes that I don't have men chasing me like I said above? I'm single but that doesn't mean I need a relationship. There are always many men chasing me, new and old, those who are still patiently waiting, but the person I'm looking for is the right man of my life.
- At the age of 35, do you ever worry about getting old quickly while you have not really become a prominent name in showbiz? What are your plans for this year?
Sometimes I worry but I always keep in mind "it's never too late", the important thing is do you really want to achieve it or not?
This year I have a lot of plans but please keep them a secret so that they will be surprise gifts for the audience.
