Comedian detained for 'drug involvement'
Police in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, said they discovered comedian Nguyen Huu Tin, 35, using drugs in an apartment with many other people.
"We discovered Nguyen Huu Tin (stage name Huu Tin) and a group of people using drugs on the night of June 11. We seized many nylon bags containing drugs and some other evidence at the scene," the source said.
District 8 police have detained the male artist and related people to clarify suspicions of drug possession.
Huu Tin is the leader of the comedy group XPro - which won the 2016 Vietnamese Laughter - Comedy Festival Championship. Currently, the actor's manager refuses to comment, and his family has not yet spoken out about the police's accusations.
