In his first time acting in a movie, Thai Vu took on the role of Viet Anh - Hong Diem's son in 'Journey of Justice'. The young man born in 2000 just graduated with honors from the University of Law and was once part of the Hanoi Geography team.

Thai Vu's real name is Vu Hong Thai, born in 2000.

- Although not a professional actor, in his first film he acted in a VTV primetime film, and acted with famous actors. Does this create a lot of pressure for Thai Vu?

I really felt pressured and had difficulty in the first days of filming, from getting the emotions, analyzing the script to interacting and getting in sync with the professional actors. There were times when I felt like I couldn't overcome it. However, luckily, the director always knew how to exploit and open up to me the character's psychology and the professional actors were always ready to teach and inspire their juniors. Thanks to that motivation, I felt more confident.

- Hong Diem thinks your role is difficult, because you have to act out the psychology of a young man experiencing family turmoil. Which scene was the most challenging for Thai Vu?

For me, every scene was difficult at the beginning, especially the climax scene when Khang discovered his father was having an affair. The emotions and psychology of a 17-year-old child seemed too difficult to express for me at that time. But it was the help of the film crew that I was able to complete that difficult scene.

In his debut film 'Journey of Justice', Thai Vu plays Khang - the son of Viet Anh - Hong Diem.

- The audience is curious to know how the scene where Thai Vu's character gets slapped by Viet Anh was filmed?

The scene where I was slapped by Viet Anh's father was filmed 4-5 times, after everyone had practiced and mastered the script. Viet Anh's father is a very professional actor, so he has ways of "physically impacting" his co-star so that he doesn't get hurt. While acting, I was so absorbed that I don't remember exactly how many times I slapped him. I wanted my father to slap me for real to have the most genuine emotion, even though I've never been slapped in real life.

- Were you chosen for the movie 'Journey of Justice' by luck or because of your physical advantage?

I think the deciding factor in film castings is acting ability and appearance that fits the character. Moreover, up to now, I have not been confident in my appearance. I do not think my appearance is good enough to be considered an advantage, so I cannot say that appearance or luck is the deciding factor that made director Mai Hien choose me. I call the opportunity with the role of Khang "suitability" and "luck". I did my best at the casting, trying to get into character and express Khang's psychology in some aspect. I think at that moment, Mr. Mai Hien somewhat recognized the suitability and decided to choose me.

- Are you sad when people say you act stiffly and are too old to play the role of Viet Anh's son, who is less than 20 years older than you?

Due to the tight filming schedule, I haven't had time to read all the comments from the audience on social networks. But through what I read, everyone has given me very sincere feelings and encouraged me on my artistic path. I am very touched and grateful for those words of encouragement. It has become the motivation to help me complete difficult scenes. In the face of conflicting information, I choose to listen, absorb and filter to be able to overcome in the future. Because it is also the first time I act in a film, my performance may not be good. But I think being open-minded and always thinking positively will help me progress on my artistic path.

- As a Geography student on the Hanoi National Gifted Student Team, the audience is curious to know what impressive achievements Thai Vu had as a student?

I was lucky to have achieved some results in the Geography team. But for me, those results compared to my peers are still not "impressive". I just told myself to try my best and think positively in any situation.

Thai Vu has just received a bachelor's degree with honors in Economic Law from Hanoi Law University. Before that, Thai Vu studied at Chu Van An School and won city and national prizes in Geography. The actor can also communicate well in Thai, Chinese and English.

- I heard that Thai Vu just graduated from Law University with a good degree, does that mean you will become a lawyer or will Thai Vu choose to become an actor?

Right now I am trying to pursue my passion of becoming a professional actor. I don’t know if I will change direction in the future. If I do, I think it is fate, so I will accept it and try my best.

- Does your family support you in your career choice?

My family always stands behind me and supports my decisions no matter what career or field I choose. Perhaps because I am an independent person, my parents trust me and are always a strong support system to help me overcome many difficulties on the path I have chosen.
