Actress in VTV3 movie not wearing bra, many mixed opinions
The director hopes that the audience will be fair, not pay attention to small things but focus on the content of the film.
After 4 episodes, the film 'Who is missed' by directors Luu Trong Ninh and Bui Tho Thinh was positively received by television audiences. The careful investment in setting, images, content as well as the acting of the cast received many compliments.
However, the fact that the female actors in the film did not wear bras, only wearing camisoles in some scenes has received mixed opinions. Many people think that this is the right way to dress for Vietnamese women in the 50s and 60s of the last century. On the other hand, many opinions say that this is an offensive way of dressing, not suitable for being shown on television with a diverse audience, including children.

Director Luu Trong Ninh confirmed that he was the one who made the decision not to let the female actors wear bras in Whose Memory Is It? When asked if he had to argue with the costume department about this issue, the director affirmed, "I did not argue, I was the one who decided."
Luu Trong Ninh further explained that his characters only wore yếm in scenes filmed at home. "All those scenes were indoors. They wore those outfits at home, not when they went out. People have to understand that those are home clothes, just like I wear shorts at home."
The director believes that people should forget about costumes and that the debates surrounding this issue are unnecessary. He also hopes: "Everyone should be fair with what the film brings and not chase after such trivial matters."
In response to opinions that having actors not wear bras can ensure the authenticity of the film but is not suitable for television, Luu Trong Ninh said: "I don't care about those opinions. I only care about whether the film really touches people's hearts or not, whether it touches their emotions or not."

Director Luu Trong Ninh affirmed his decision in making films. |
Ignoring the noise and controversy surrounding the film's costumes, director Luu Trong Ninh was very happy that Whose Love Is Missing was positively received by the audience. "I'm not in Hanoi. My place is very far away and there's no internet so I don't know what people are writing online, but over the phone, I heard people say wonderful things about the film."
Missing You is adapted from the novel Ben Khong Chong by writer Duong Huong. Director Luu Trong Ninh was successful with the film version of this literary work. The film was filmed in dozens of villages across the Northern and Central provinces and had to use 2,000 special effects to recreate the setting of Dong village - a typical Northern village in the years 1954 - 1975. The film depicts the tragic fate of rural women in the post-war period. They not only suffered the pain of losing their loved ones but were also imprisoned and bound by prejudices and harsh procedures, having to suppress and bury their personal desires for happiness.
34 episodes of "Who's Missing You" will air at 2:30 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday on VTV3, starting from November 4. The film features actors Thanh Huong, Ngoc Anh, Hong Kim Hanh, Meritorious Artist Thanh Ngoan...
