Adjusting pensions and social insurance benefits.

(Baonghean) - The Vietnam Social Security (BHXH) has just issued Document 3162/BHXH-CSXH guiding the adjustment of pensions, social insurance benefits, and monthly allowances as stipulated in Decree No. 76/2017/NĐ-CP.

Accordingly, the adjustment rates for pensioners, monthly allowances for commune officials, disability allowances, monthly allowances under Decision 91/2000/QD-TTg dated August 4, 2000 and Decision 613/QD-TTg dated May 6, 2010 of the Prime Minister, and monthly allowances for rubber plantation workers are as follows:

Adjusting the monthly occupational accident and disease compensation rate for those receiving monthly occupational accident and disease compensation before July 1, 2017:

The caregiver allowance will be adjusted as follows: For those receiving 80% of the general minimum wage, the monthly allowance will be 1,040,000 VND (80% of the base salary of 1,300,000 VND); for those receiving the same amount as the general minimum wage and the same base salary, the monthly allowance will be 1,300,000 VND.

The monthly survivor's benefit for dependents receiving monthly benefits before July 1, 2017, will be adjusted as follows: For those receiving benefits equal to 40% of the general minimum wage, the monthly benefit will be 520,000 VND (40% of the base salary of 1,300,000 VND); for those receiving benefits equal to 50% of the general minimum wage, the monthly benefit will be 650,000 VND (50% of the base salary of 1,300,000 VND); and for those receiving benefits equal to 70% of the general minimum wage, the monthly benefit will be 910,000 VND (70% of the base salary of 1,300,000 VND).

Social Security agencies in provinces and centrally-administered cities, based on the regulations of the Social Security policy and the guidelines for adjusting pensions, social security benefits, and monthly allowances, shall organize timely, full, and correct payment to beneficiaries of pensions, social security benefits, and monthly allowances managed by the provincial Social Security agency (including those who have moved to the area and have not yet been adjusted), and pay backdated payments for each specific case. The Social Security agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the People's Public Security shall adjust the monthly allowance for occupational accidents and diseases in the military and people's public security from July 1, 2017; and compile and statistically analyze data as prescribed.

The Information Technology Center, the Business Software Project Management Board, adjusts the payment management software and the operational management software of the sector, and guides provincial social insurance agencies, the Ministry of National Defense social insurance agency, and the People's Public Security social insurance agency to adjust pensions, social insurance benefits, and monthly allowances to be paid according to the new benefit levels and to pay backdated payments for each specific case as stipulated by the policy.
