How to adjust your wishes accordingly?
Candidates should compare the combined admission score range from last year to this year to predict university admission scores and choose appropriate preferences.
After the Ministry of Education and Training announces the national high school exam scores, candidates must focus on calculating and choosing university admission wishes that match their wishes and actual exam scores. According to the regulations, students only have one time to adjust their admission registration, from July 15 to July 23.

Tran Van Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Education Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), advised candidates to refer to the score distribution according to the admission combination of the previous year and this year to predict the fluctuation of the benchmark score and make accurate choices. The detailed score distribution of traditional groups and some groups with many candidates registered will be announced by the Ministry after July 12, along with the threshold to ensure input quality.
Based on the score distribution, candidates will be able to determine the number of people with scores equal to or higher than their score in 2017. Compared with the score distribution in 2016, candidates will know how many people achieved this score, how the competition ratio increased or decreased, and predict the standard score.
Based on the predicted fluctuation of the benchmark score, candidates will adjust their wishes appropriately. However, the score range is only one of many factors affecting the admission scores of schools.
The difference in the university admission process this year is that candidates can register and adjust an unlimited number of wishes, but must arrange them in order of priority from top to bottom. Candidates with enough points to be admitted to many wishes will only be allowed to study the major with the highest priority wish.
For example, a candidate has enough points to be admitted to all 3 choices 1, 2, 3 but will only be able to study the major in choice 1. "Therefore, students must consider carefully when determining the priority order of their wishes when registering for admission and when adjusting their admission wishes.Deputy Director of Education Quality Management emphasized.
The priority order of the wish is only valid for that candidate. As for candidates, admission to the same major is equal, regardless of the priority order of the wish. That is, the university will take the score from high to low to the prescribed standard, any candidate with a score within that threshold will pass, regardless of whether the candidate's wish is first, second or third.
In case there are too many candidates with similar starting scores, schools can specify additional criteria. This criterion usually considers the score of one of the three subjects in the admission combination or gives priority to candidates with the first choice to enter the industry or school.
Toincrease chances of getting into university,Deputy Director Nghia advises candidatesWhen registering or adjusting your admission wishes, you should think about 3 groups of majors/schools that you have a high chance of being admitted to. The first are the schools that you really like and whose scores last year were only slightly higher than your ability or the test score of the candidate. This is to avoid regrets if you have a chance to pass later.
The second group is the majors/schools that are completely consistent with the actual scores. The remaining group is the schools that had lower standards last year than the students' test scores. This will be a "safety net" to prevent candidates from failing the university entrance exam.
