What happens if you eat a lot of red meat and few fruits and vegetables?

Eating too much red meat and not enough fruit and vegetables can increase the body's biological age and lead to health problems, researchers say.

According to scientists, consuming a lot of red meat increases the level of serum phosphate in the body, combined with a poor overall diet, which will increase a person's biological age, making it the opposite of their actual age.

Eating a lot of red meat increases biological age.

Experts describe chronological age as human age in years, while biological age reflects the body's functional abilities, ability to work and ability to live.

The study was conducted by a team of scientists at the University of Glasgow, UK. The results showed that biological aging is directly related to eating red meat, especially when combined with a poor diet lacking in vegetables and fruits.

High levels of phosphate in the body also reduce kidney function and even cause mild to moderate chronic kidney disease.

Professor Paul Shiels of the University of Glasgow Cancer Research Institute said that groups with more balanced diets would be less affected.

Phosphate is naturally found in basic foods such as meat, fish, eggs, dairy products and vegetables. But high levels of phosphate in the diet are linked to a higher risk of death, premature aging of blood vessels and kidney disease.

“It is noteworthy that many of the people in the study group had symptoms of chronic kidney disease,” Professor Shiels stressed.
