Investigating the cause of the fire that killed two people

A fire broke out at a four-story house in lane 31, Hang Giay street, Hang Bong ward, Hoan Kiem district (Hanoi) on the morning of November 5.

A fire broke out at a four-story house in lane 31, Hang Giay street, Hang Bong ward, Hoan Kiem district (Hanoi) this morning. Although it was extinguished, two people died.

The police coordinated with relevant forces to conduct a crime scene investigation to clarify the cause of the fire.

The two victims were identified as Mai Nguyen Cuong and Mai Van Duy, both born in 2000 and from Hau Loc, Thanh Hoa, residing in Phuc Tan ward (Hoan Kiem), working as loaders in the house above.

When the fire broke out, two victims were rescued from the fire by the authorities and quickly taken to the emergency room at Xanh Pon Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital. However, the two victims later died.

Residents in lane 31, Hang Giay street (Hanoi) discovered a fire on the third floor of the house and reported it to the authorities. Immediately after, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Force No. 1 (Hanoi Fire Prevention and Fighting Police), Dong Xuan Ward Police and the local fire fighting team quickly arrived, guided residents in the lane and organized rescue and extinguished the fire to prevent it from spreading from the upper floor to the lower floor of the house.

Firefighting and rescue operations at this house were difficult due to the small area and narrow staircase, leaving no escape route for those on the upper floors. The police are currently investigating the cause of the fire./.
