For example, on the morning of October 3, 2016, Priest Dang Huu Nam incited parishioners of Phu Yen parish to go to the People's Committee of An Hoa commune to cause disturbances, beat commune officials, making the security and order situation in the area extremely complicated. In particular, on November 12, 2016, Priest Dang Huu Nam continued to have actions that caused discontent among the people, damaging the image of a priest. At about 10:30 a.m. on November 12, 2016, Father Dang Huu Nam, parish priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune, drove a black car with license plate 37A - 154.61 from Phu Yen parish church to the milestone Km 4 + 600 of provincial road 537B, about 10m east of An Hoa commune People's Committee headquarters, right at the end of school day at An Hoa commune secondary school. Because it was the end of school day, there were many students on the road, causing difficulties for vehicles on the road. Going in the same direction as Father Nam's car was Nguyen Van Luc, a 9D student from An Hoa commune secondary school, sitting on his friend's bicycle and passing in front of Father Nam's car. Seeing that, Priest Nam rolled down the car window, threatened, cursed and asked Nguyen Van Luc to stop, then Priest Nam got out of the car, grabbed his collar and used his hands to slap and hit him repeatedly on the face and head (in Priest Nam's car there were 2 other people, 1 male and 1 female).

After finding out and knowing that the person who beat Luc was Priest Nam, Mr. Lai proactively rode his motorbike to the location where Priest Nam's car was stopped to discuss and sympathize. About 5 minutes later, due to information from Priest Nam or people traveling in the same car (information: the priest was held by An Hoa people), Phu Yen parish rang the gong and mobilized over 200 people to pull up, some people brought weapons such as knives, sticks, iron pipes... to rush in and beat Mr. Lai; Mr. Lai ran into Thuy Trang restaurant, then climbed the wall behind Mr. Trang's house and ran into the area of ​​the Primary School, An Hoa commune; at this time, about 10 young men from Phu Yen parish chased and used weapons to beat Mr. Lai in the Primary School; Mr. Lai was seriously injured, bleeding profusely from his head, mouth and fainted on the spot, these young men dragged Mr. Lai from the place where he was beaten to the school gate. At this time, Mrs. Ho Thi Loan, Mr. Lai's daughter, ran in and begged, saying, "My father has a heart disease, please don't beat him anymore, if you beat him he will die"; the subjects were afraid that Mr. Lai would die so they released Mr. Lai. Because he was so seriously injured, Mr. Lai's daughter called a taxi to take Mr. Lai to the emergency room at Quynh Luu General Hospital.
