Common symptoms
Hemangioma is an abnormal blood vessel disease in children with a rate of 10 - 12% of cases, usually appearing in the first week or 4th week after birth. Hemangioma is divided into 2 groups: Angiomas and vascular malformations. Angiomas often account for a higher rate than vascular malformations. Angiomas progress rapidly in the first months of a child's life, and will heal on their own by the time the child is 10 years old and may leave sequelae and scars.
Vascular malformations will last a lifetime if not treated. Hemangiomas often grow over time, fast or slow depending on the location. The disease usually does not seriously affect health but greatly affects the aesthetics and psychology of the patient.

Previously, hemangioma was considered a difficult disease to treat. If not treated early, the disease would leave many sequelae, affecting the patient's life. Modern medicine today helps patients access hemangioma treatment with color laser - a method that is highly effective, avoids recurrence and leaves few sequelae.
The “gold standard” in the treatment of hemangiomaThe Department of Plastic Surgery - Nghe An Trauma and Orthopedics Hospital is one of the three pioneering units in the country and the only place in the Central region that owns a color laser machine specializing in treating hemangiomas. The Vbeam Perfecta Laser is considered the "gold standard" in the treatment of hemangiomas, port wine stains, and vascular lesions; it is also used in the treatment of rosacea, telangiectasia, post-acne redness, etc.
Doctor Vo Ngoc Thai - Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Nghe An Trauma and Orthopedics Hospital said: Vbeam laser machine includes many features such as multi-functional treatment with many different beam sizes, cooling system, super pulse technique... helping patients recover quickly and avoid subcutaneous bleeding; especially avoiding scars like previous treatment methods.
In addition, the advantages of treating hemangioma with vbeam laser are: Only affects the damaged skin area, painless, leaves no scars, short treatment time (40 minutes), can go home immediately after treatment, no need to use additional medicine at home. This treatment method is highly effective and safe for patients. With the above advantages, this method can be easily applied to treat hemangioma in infants and young children.
Having a large, flat, dark birthmark on the left side of her face made Ms. Tran Thi H (28 years old) lack confidence and greatly affected her quality of life. Ms. H went to the Trauma and Orthopedics Hospital for examination and was advised to treat with the Vbeam Perfecta laser machine. Ms. H shared: “After 8 treatments with the color laser method (each treatment was 1 month apart), up to now, the birthmark area has faded, my facial skin has almost returned to normal like the left side of my face. I am really satisfied with this treatment method, which is painless, leaves no scars, has a short treatment time but is very effective, beyond expectations.”

In the case of Nguyen Anh Q (15 years old) in Do Luong, who has had port wine stains on his face, neck, and chest since he was a child, he has been examined in many places but has not been treated. After being treated 3 times by doctors of the Department of Plastic Surgery, with good results, his birthmark has gradually faded and narrowed. He is happier, more confident in life and is confident to continue treatment.
In recent times, the Department of Plastic Surgery - Nghe An Trauma and Orthopedics Hospital has successfully treated many cases, most of which are children with hemangiomas and telangiectasias. Doctor Vo Ngoc Thai - Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery recommends that when a child is born with areas of skin with unusual colors: dark red, purple, black, blue, or raised above the normal skin surface, the child should be taken to a reputable medical facility for early examination and treatment. If detected and treated early when the tumor and blood vessel area are still small, the treatment results will be higher.
