Suspend investigation of the case with Mr. Kim Quoc Hoa
Mr. Kim Quoc Hoa, former editor-in-chief of Nguoi Cao Tuoi newspaper, has just had his case suspended and his defendant suspended for the crime of abusing democratic freedoms.

On December 22, the Supreme People's Procuracy issued a decision to suspend the case and suspend the defendant Kim Quoc Hoa (71 years old), former editor-in-chief of the Elderly Newspaper, for the crime of abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and citizens.
Considering that Mr. Kim Quoc Hoa has clearly recognized a number of violations, during his work he has been awarded many medals by the Party and the State, a certificate of merit from the Government and many other titles. In addition, Mr. Hoa has been strictly administratively disciplined, the level of violations is not dangerous to society. The prosecution agency decided to exempt the former Editor-in-Chief of the Elderly Newspaper from criminal liability.
Previously, in May 2015, the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency prosecuted (released on bail) Mr. Hoa for the above crime.
The security investigation agency determined that Mr. Hoa had written and approved for publication in the Elderly newspaper a number of articles with false content that negatively affected the reputation of a number of organizations and citizens.
The Ministry of Information and Communications also conducted an inspection at the Elderly Newspaper and concluded that there were many violations related to Mr. Hoa's leadership and management role.
From there, the Ministry of Information and Communications decided to revoke the license of the electronic information site; revoke the domain name nguoicaotuoi.org.vn; and revoke the press card of Mr. Kim Quoc Hoa. At the same time, the Ministry of Information and Communications also transferred the case to the Security Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security to investigate, clarify these violations, and handle them according to the law.
Before becoming editor-in-chief of the Elderly Newspaper, Mr. Hoa held the following positions: deputy editor-in-chief of the Logistics Soldier Newspaper, editor-in-chief of the Capital Youth Newspaper, deputy editor-in-chief of the Labor - Social Newspaper, editor-in-chief of the Construction Newspaper, and editor-in-chief of the Foreign Investment Enterprises Newspaper.
