"Involved" in many violations, a female principal was temporarily detained
Hai Phong City Police have issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Le Thi Thu Thuy, former Principal of Dang Cuong Primary School, after investigating the illegal collection of fees at the school.

Accordingly, based on the investigation documents, on February 6, 2018, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai Phong City Police issued a Decision to prosecute the criminal case: Crime of taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties occurred at Dang Cuong Primary School, Dang Cuong Commune, An Duong District.
The Police Investigation Agency determined that: Le Thi Thu Thuy, 36 years old, residing at: No. 6, Lot 7 Kien Thiet, So Dau Ward, Hong Bang District, organized and directed the collection of many contributions from parents of students without approval from the superior management agency, did not deposit into the School's deposit account at the State Treasury as prescribed, but spent cash on activities contrary to the collection purpose, not public and transparent as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, for personal gain, causing the loss of a large amount of money, violating Article 281 of the 1999 Penal Code, now Article 356 of the 2015 Penal Code.
On May 8, the Department of Investigation Police on Economic Management Crimes (PC46), Hai Phong City Police issued a decision to prosecute and issue an order to temporarily detain Le Thi Thu Thuy for investigation, clarification, and handling according to the provisions of law.
