Beautiful DJ shares her experience traveling to New York for only 21 million VND

In recent days, DJ Yuu's (real name Quynh Nhi, from Ho Chi Minh City) New York trip has caused controversy on social networks because she revealed that the basic cost of her entire trip was only nearly 21 million VND. From the beginning, Quynh Nhi reaffirmed that the price of 20.8 million VND/person was a suggestion for the most economical way possible, based on the actual experience of the two people, not "just take 20 million to travel", because there are many needs and situations that arise.

The plane tickets were booked 2-3 months in advance, with a price of 14.9 million VND round trip. Nhi also showed the ticket stubs of both people in the livestream. In fact, this is a quite reasonable price for the route from Ho Chi Minh City to New York. Regarding transportation, the price of 625,000 VND for 5 days by public transport to the city's landmarks is also proven to be not unusual when compared to other tourist cities in the world.

Regarding the hotel room, Quynh Nhi quoted a price of one million VND per night (stay 4 nights, split between 2 people). Many people said that it is impossible to find a hotel room for $50 in an expensive city like New York. In response, Quynh Nhi provided pictures and evidence of the hotel that she and her boyfriend rented for $48. This is the price for an area near the airport, but if you want to stay in the center, you should stay in the Central Park area, which is convenient for traveling, and the price may be higher.

With the criteria of saving, she and her boyfriend prioritize choosing to visit free or low-cost entertainment spots such as squares, parks... only serving "virtual check-in" to minimize spending. Those places include: Time Square, Central Park, Rockerfeller Center, Top of the rock, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Washington Square Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Terminal Grand Station, Trump Tower... Instead of "burying their faces" in shopping malls, this trip is a time for the two of them to sightsee, for them these experiences are more enjoyable because online shopping is more than enough.

Among them, Nhi is excited about Top of the Rock - where you can see the whole view of New York City from above - at an affordable price. Sharing more clearly, Nhi said: "When you come to Top of the Rock, you can buy tickets online or buy them on the spot for 770,000 VND (about 34 USD) to go to the highest floor to see the whole view of New York. This place has the best view and you can also take pictures of the famous Empire State Building of New York, the price is half cheaper than going to the Empire State Building but it is more beautiful".

The Statue of Liberty is a must-see when visiting New York. Nhi shares the secret that you should not buy online because tours can rip you off up to $50, while buying on the spot, although you have to wait in a long line, costs only about $20.

Regarding food, also with the criteria of saving money, Quynh Nhi gives a food cost of about 2-3 million VND for 4 days, mainly eating street food, fast food, only a few slightly more "luxurious" meals.

Regarding the luxurious meal that netizens "questioned", Quynh Nhi said she ate at Burger & Lobster - a restaurant famous for its fresh and delicious food, a 3-pound big boy lobster cost 1.7 million VND, divided between 2 people. For the rest of her meals, she ate ordinary food, priced from 5 USD per dish. Nhi also advised Laudree Soho afternoon tea shop which has reasonable prices, beautiful decoration, a set of tea and cake costs about 20 USD.

Answering readers' questions about why they eat cheaply and painfully, Nhi explained that she and her boyfriend did not need to eat a full meal at a fancy restaurant at noon, but mainly ate moderately and lightly to continue the journey, with a full meal for dinner. The cost of 3 million VND per person for 4 days is not as miserable as people think.
