The defending champion defeated Richard Gasquet in the semi-finals on July 10th, in just three sets.

Novak Djokovic defeated Richard Gasquet with scores of 7-6(2), 6-4, 6-4, reaching the Wimbledon final for the fourth time. The Serbian player's opponent in the final will be either Andy Murray or Roger Federer.

During the semi-final match, Djokovic twice sought medical attention for shoulder pain. Although not in peak physical condition, this couldn't prevent "Djoker" from finishing the match after two hours and 22 minutes.

"There's nothing to worry about. I'm not injured. The final will be fine," Djokovic shared immediately after the match.

The world number one was considered far superior to his opponent Gasquet before the semi-final match. The Frenchman had only won one game in 12 encounters with Nole. Last month at Roland Garros, Gasquet had only won six games against Djokovic.

On Centre Court, Gasquet showed better form than on clay, but it wasn't enough to defeat the two-time Wimbledon champion.

"Richard is a strong player and he deserves to be in the semi-finals. I don't think I won easily. He could have won the first set, but luckily I was the one who won," the defending champion shared.

Gasquet started quite well despite Djokovic breaking his serve early. In the fourth game, a good one-handed backhand helped the Frenchman level the score at 2-2. The audience continued to be excited by Gasquet's excellent winning shots afterward. However, his forehand disappointed the Frenchman. Two unforced errors in the tie-break led to Gasquet losing 2-7.

In the remaining two sets, Djokovic demonstrated the prowess of the defending champion. Gasquet was unable to break the Serbian player's serve again. Djokovic, with his cross-court forehand and powerful serves, won the remaining two sets with the same score of 6-4.
