US Admiral Explains the Meaning of the Presence of US Warships in the East Sea
Admiral John Fuller said the continued presence of US warships in the South China Sea, including in disputed areas, is important to maintaining stability in the region.

"The American presence is very important. I think it's absolutely clear that we are in the South China Sea and we are acting," he said aboard the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson.
As commander of the carrier strike group, the admiral said: "Pacific nations are maritime nations, deserving of a stable atmosphere."
“That's why we're here,” Admiral John Fuller stressed.
