(Baonghean.vn) - At 4:30 PM on July 13th, a tragic drowning incident occurred in the Do Gia area of ​​Da Son commune (Do Luong district). The victim was Pham Truong Sinh, born in 1998, from Hamlet 12, Trang Son commune.

The incident occurred because the children went swimming in the Lam River near the Do Gia ferry crossing. At that time, the river's water level was low but the current was strong. When the four children were almost at the other bank, Pham Truong Sinh drowned. Immediately after the incident, local residents gathered and used boats and fishing nets to search for him. By 6 PM that same day, Sinh's body was found.

Currently, during the hot summer months, students on school holidays often gather to swim in rivers, ponds, and lakes, resulting in numerous drowning incidents. According to statistics, in the past six months, at least seven drowning deaths have occurred in Do Luong district, mostly involving children.
