(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 27, Do Luong Town held a memorial service for the remains of martyr Nguyen Canh Son and awarded the Certificate of Merit to the family of Mrs. Pham Thi Ly - the martyr's wife.

Martyr Nguyen Canh Son was born on October 29, 1962, in Lien Son commune, Do Luong district. On December 4, 1980, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, he volunteered to join the Vietnam People's Army, training new soldiers at unit C3, D7, F441, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province.

In February 1981, he was assigned to an international mission in Cambodia. Here, he fought bravely and left part of his body on the battlefield with an 81% disability. After returning to his hometown, his wound relapsed, his health gradually weakened and he died on May 18, 2016.

For his contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, comrade Nguyen Canh Son was recognized by the Party, State, and Army as a martyr who died due to a relapse of his wound.

At the comrade's family, the Party Committee and the government solemnly held a memorial service and awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to the martyr's family in the presence of town leaders and many local people./.
