The "cunningness" of coach Park Hang Seo
(Baonghean) - Coach Park Hang Seo has taught his students how to compete with strong teams. The word HOW here, we have been researching and exploring for many years with both foreign and domestic teachers.
Last week, along with U23 Malaysia, U23 Vietnam created an “earthquake” when they entered the quarter-finals of the U23 Asia for the first time. There was much praise for the brave fighting spirit of the young Vietnamese players as well as the “know yourself, know your enemy” strategy of coach Park Hang Seo after 3 matches of U23 Vietnam.

As a participant in many commentary programs at this tournament, expert Trinh Minh Hue gave praise to the Korean strategist: “Park Hang Seo is the coach who brought U23 Vietnam for the first time past the group stage into the top 8 teams in Asia to continue competing for the continental title. Mr. Park is a coach who knows himself and his opponents to come up with appropriate strategies for each match.
When facing Korea and Australia, he let the team play deep defense from home and counterattack quickly, achieving excellent results. And even more excellent, in the match against U23 Syria, the team played defense from a distance on the opponent's field and won the ball, then organized sharp attacks, making the match attractive. He is the coach who created physical strength for the players throughout 3 top matches, building the team's competitive mentality to meet professional standards."

However, Mr. Trinh Minh Hue also said: “The weakness of Mr. Park is also very normal. He cried when he won against a stronger opponent. He also had a moment of extreme tension at the end of the match, having to hide behind the technical area to wait for the referee's final whistle. To me, coach Park Hang Seo is both smart, "weird" and humane."
Mr. Nguyen Cong Khe - former Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper and the person who successfully organized the annual U21 international tournament in Vietnam said: Coach Park Hang Seo taught his students how to compete with strong teams. The word "WAY" here, we have been researching and exploring for many years with both foreign and domestic teachers. Mr. Weigang once told me that "underneath the feet of Vietnamese players there is a head". Why do the players play so well and cleanly in the U21 tournaments and below? When entering the professional tournament, they change color. It's all our players. There are also those in the U23 Vietnam Team, the faces we often see on our home field. How can we know how to play with strong Asian teams today? Oh, I see, it's all because of our management and training.

Foreign press and experts have given many compliments to U23 Vietnam. Photo: Internet |
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Khe: “It is not true that we can be proud after winning a few matches. The important thing is that we have to find a way for Vietnamese football. A way of playing football for Vietnamese players, a manager and a coach suitable for Vietnamese football. Football people who are enthusiastic, devoted, and selfless towards football.
In 2003, with a generation of talented players Van Quyen, Tai Em, Quoc Vuong, Huy Hoang, Nhu Thanh, The Anh... the U23 Vietnam team defeated the Korean team 1-0 at the Asian Cup. At that time, the Korean team had 13 players who had reached the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup and 8/13 of those players were on the field in the match against the U23 Vietnam team. But our way of managing football has caused that generation of talent to fade away. The lesson from 15 years ago is still here. And I always repeat: nowhere is there a better football public environment than in Vietnam!”Acknowledging the achievements of Mr. Park and his students, experts also frankly commented: U23 Vietnam had 3 very good matches. However, in reality, the professional level of all 3 teams is still a certain distance above ours./.
