Man and 6-year-old girl burned themselves to death in motel

(Baonghean.vn) - A man and a 6-year-old girl rented a room. Not long after, the man poured gasoline on himself and the girl and set himself on fire.

The incident happened at around 0:40 am on March 1, at An Phu Quy motel (No. 15, Yen Khanh block, Nam Dan town, Nghe An).

According to people living around the scene of the incident, at around 9:30 p.m. on February 29, a man (identity unknown; about 37 years old, from Yen Thanh district) brought a 6-year-old child to rent a room at An Phu Quy motel.

At around 0:40 a.m. on March 1, the motel owner suddenly heard a loud scream coming from room 205, so he went up to check.

As soon as the door opened, the man in the room took out a can of gasoline and poured it on himself and his niece next to him, then set them on fire, killing both of them on the spot.

At the scene, the room was completely burned down, the walls and wall panels were burned in patches, black smoke covered the entire room, ceiling and even spread to the motel balcony. All the property in the room such as TV, air conditioner, wardrobe, bed, water heater and electrical system were burned down.

After the incident, Nam Dan district police were present at the scene to investigate the cause of the incident.
