Diagnose car "diseases" through driving phenomena

1. The machine vibrates and does not start evenly.

This is a very common phenomenon of the car, when you press the brake, you find the car running rustling on the road, there is a grinding and screeching sound of the wheel. When this phenomenon occurs, you should check the brake pads, if the brake pads are worn, they need to be replaced and the brake system maintained to ensure safety when driving.

2. Exhaust pipe makes noise when accelerating

When you accelerate and hear an unusually loud exhaust noise, your vehicle has a problem with the exhaust system; the muffler or exhaust may be damaged or broken.

This is also the cause of the car having an unpleasant smell of smoke and gasoline fumes; it is necessary to quickly check and repair damage to the exhaust system and exhaust pipe to avoid affecting the environment and harming the health of people in the car.

3. Knocking noise in the engine

This is usually bad news, as the loud banging is usually caused by worn or loose connecting rod bearings. Sooner or later the bearing will fail, either the bearings seize the crankshaft or the connecting rods will fail.

This damage can be the result of using low viscosity oil, engine operation in low oil pressure, oil with a lot of dirt or due to incorrect engine disassembly, loose engine mounting bolts.

4. Grinding sound in the gearbox

When driving a manual transmission, if you hear a grinding sound while the transmission is shifting, it could be due to worn out synchronization. The clutch slipper can also be the culprit.

5. The engine makes a grinding noise.

After driving for a while, you notice that the engine makes an unusual noise, whether the car is running fast or slow. The cause is that the ignition system, including the spark plug and fuel injector, is damaged. Check these parts, as they may be clogged with fuel injectors or soot on the spark plugs; clean the injectors and replace the spark plugs if necessary to fix the problem.

6. There is a smell of gasoline or burning smell in the car.

There are many causes of the burning smell such as forgetting to release the handbrake; burnt electrical switches due to replacing the protective fuse with a higher than standard rating, causing them to lose their protection effect on the electrical system; plastic foam covering stuck to one of the exhaust pipe locations; burnt clutch; loose belt causing slipping and burning noise.

The smell of gasoline can escape from the exhaust pipe due to incomplete combustion of gasoline, a large puncture in the fuel tank, or a leak in the fuel system in the engine compartment causing the smell of gasoline to seep through the air conditioning system into the interior. The smell of gasoline is more likely to occur in cars running on carburetors.

When your car smells like gasoline or burning, you should immediately check the car's air system.

7. Temperature gauge needle rises

When driving, if you see the temperature gauge needle rising to the red zone - it is a sign that the engine cooling system has a damaged pipe, oil leak, broken seal or is out of coolant. You need to check the cooling system, add coolant, add oil to ensure the engine operates to avoid overheating due to friction between the piston and cylinder causing serious engine damage.
