A delegation of officials from Cerro Navia, Chile, visited Nghe An province for a working trip.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 29th, a delegation from the city of Cerro Navia, Republic of Chile, visited and worked in our province. Upon arriving in Nghe An, the delegation, led by Mayor Luis Plaza Sánchez, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also present were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders from the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Upon arriving in Nghe An, the delegation, led by Mayor Luis Plaza Sánchez, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the Party Committee and people of Nghe An Province joyfully welcomed the delegates. The presence of delegates from Chile in the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh further strengthens the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Chile in general, and between Nghe An and Cerro Navia in particular. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee introduced Nghe An's potential advantages that the Chilean side could explore for investment and development, such as agricultural processing, food technology, rice and fruit import-export, and handicrafts.

Despite being half a world apart, Vietnam and Chile established diplomatic relations on June 1, 1972. Notably, in the city of Cerro Navia, there is a park named after President Ho Chi Minh, built in the late 1960s, reflecting the Chilean people's support for the Vietnamese people's struggle for independence and freedom.

Mr. Luis Plaza Sánchez, Mayor of Cerro Navia, Chile, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the provincial leaders to the delegation. He shared that the trip to the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh was truly meaningful for the members of the delegation as well as the people of Cerro Navia in particular and Chile in general. Following this trip, he hoped that the two localities would strengthen their ties, foster solidarity and friendship, and open up many opportunities for cooperation in investment and socio-economic development.
