In the coming period, the two countries will strengthen their cooperative relationship in areas of cooperation in combating crime.

On the afternoon of August 12th in Hanoi, a delegation of leaders from the General Department of Police for Crime Prevention and Control, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, led by Lieutenant General Trieu Van Dat, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police for Crime Prevention and Control, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, received and held a working meeting with a delegation from the Royal Thai Police, led by General Pansiri Prapawat, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Police, who were visiting and working in Vietnam.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Crime Prevention and Control Police Force of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Lieutenant General Trieu Van Dat welcomed the delegation of the Royal Thai Police to visit and work with the General Department of Crime Prevention and Control Police, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, and expressed his pleasure that the cooperative relationship between the police forces of Vietnam and Thailand has achieved many good results in recent years.

The police forces of both countries have exchanged valuable information, supported each other in international forums, and have plans to coordinate investigations into specific cases.

Lieutenant General Trieu Van Dat emphasized that in the coming time, the General Department of Police for Crime Prevention and Control, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Royal Thai Police Force need to strengthen their cooperative relationship in areas of cooperation in combating crime, commensurate with the strategic partnership that the leaders of the two states agreed upon in the Joint Statement during the official visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the Kingdom of Thailand from June 25-27, 2013.

General Pansiri Prapawat highly appreciated the close and effective cooperation between the police forces of Vietnam and Thailand in the past; and expressed his hope that in the future, the General Department of Crime Prevention and Control, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Royal Thai Police will strengthen the implementation of crime prevention and control plans; regularly exchange and cooperate in training officers, meeting the requirements set by the leaders of the two countries.
