Provincial National Assembly delegation surveys the implementation of the Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking in Ky Son
On the afternoon of August 12, the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province had a program to survey the implementation of the Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking and organize to collect opinions on the draft Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking (amended) in Bao Nam commune (Ky Son district).

Participating in the working program were comrade Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province; comrade Tran Nhat Minh - Member of the National Assembly's Law Committee, full-time National Assembly delegate of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province; and leaders of Ky Son district.
Successfully rescued 12 victims of human trafficking
Through a survey in Bao Nam commune, the provincial National Assembly delegation noted that the locality has closely followed the regulations and instructions of the Central, provincial and district governments to implement the work of preventing and combating human trafficking and supporting victims of trafficking to return to their localities.
In particular, focusing on propaganda, dissemination, raising awareness and knowledge for all classes of people through many forms, such as visual and direct propaganda, banners, loudspeakers, distributing leaflets, billboards; especially building propaganda articles in the people's language, videos of typical related cases to propagate to residential areas.

Along with propaganda work, the Party Committee, government and the entire political system of the commune have also coordinated with the Commune Police to strengthen the detection, denunciation, combat and handling of human trafficking cases in the area.
Since 2019, the Commune Police force has coordinated with forces at all levels to break up 10 human trafficking cases, arrest 18 subjects, and successfully rescue 12 victims.
Local authorities also pay attention to helping and supporting victims of human trafficking to return to their hometowns to stabilize their lives; such as financial support, housing construction and psychological counseling, to ensure victims reintegrate into the community and not affect social psychology.

Through surveys and discussions with local authorities and forces, the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province also noted that although the situation of human trafficking in Bao Nam commune has tended to decrease compared to before; this is still a key and complicated area of human trafficking in Ky Son district. The delegation also studied and analyzed the core factors leading to the situation of human trafficking in the locality.

The most concerning thing is that people’s awareness of culture and law is limited. On the other hand, the economic conditions of families and jobs in the locality are difficult, while the thoughts and desires of some buyers to go out to change their lives lead to becoming victims of human trafficking…
Meanwhile, propaganda and the fight against human trafficking are still limited, especially propaganda via social networks has not received much attention, despite the high rate of people using smartphones.

At the conference, a number of opinions were also contributed to the draft Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking (amended). In particular, it is necessary to attach the role and responsibility of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and schools in the work of preventing and combating human trafficking; it is necessary to add more forms of propaganda, especially strengthening training, disseminating the law to officials and party members and promoting propaganda on social networks; paying attention to praising good people, good deeds and effective community reintegration in the fight against human trafficking.
Suggesting many solutions to prevent and combat human trafficking
Speaking at the survey and consultation on the draft Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking (amended), comrade Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province acknowledged the efforts of the entire political system in Bao Nam commune, along with the support of forces at the district level for effective prevention and combat of human trafficking.

Sharing many difficulties in the work of preventing and combating human trafficking in the locality, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Thai Thi An Chung suggested a number of solutions to prevent and combat human trafficking for the locality. The focus is on strengthening propaganda work with focus and focus, especially propaganda in schools, from a distance, from early on among students, promoting the role of clans and victims of human trafficking to propagate...; taking advantage of the direction of the District and Commune Police to grasp the tricks of human trafficking, grasp the area to classify the subjects for propaganda, warning, vigilance, and effective prevention.

Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen strict management of household registration, people coming and going in the area; manage organizations and individuals who provide consulting, recruitment, and sending workers to work outside the area to strengthen preventive measures.
The National Assembly delegation also acknowledged some difficulties in the fight against human trafficking as well as recommendations and proposals from localities to increase the effectiveness of the fight against human trafficking in the coming time.
