(Baonghean.vn) - As part of the activities of exemplary delegates studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi, on May 18th, the delegation visited the K9 historical site in Ba Vi district. Located near the Da River, in the Da Chong mountain area, K9 is one of the special historical sites associated with President Ho Chi Minh from his lifetime until his passing to "meet Karl Marx and Lenin".

On the way to K9, most members of the delegation had only heard stories about this sacred land. Hidden deep in the primeval forest, the houses where President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Party Committee worked, built in the 1950s and 1960s, have been preserved in their original form.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Doan, a tour guide at the historical site: In May 1957, President Ho Chi Minh visited the 36th Regiment – 308th Division during a training exercise by the Da River. He stopped to rest and have lunch on a hill where three sharp, pointed rocks, resembling spearheads or lances, were situated close together. Looking out at the Da River, he saw a picturesque landscape, with a winding river and beautiful scenery, close to the people but far from the national highway. With the vision of a brilliant strategist, he suggested to his comrades that they build this place as a central base to guard against the US imperialists expanding their air war of destruction against North Vietnam.

On the morning of February 23, 1958, President Ho Chi Minh visited and inspected the Da Chong area. Subsequently, the General Department of Logistics of the Vietnam People's Army was assigned the task of building the Da Chong base. During the construction process, President Ho Chi Minh visited and personally inspected the site many times. On March 15, 1960, the two-story building was completed, and President Ho Chi Minh attended the inauguration ceremony. From then on, the area was renamed "K9 Base" (abbreviated as K9).

For nine years (from 1960 to 1969), President Ho Chi Minh and several members of the Politburo and military commanders visited this location many times. Notably, on September 20, 1964, President Ho Chi Minh, along with Comrade Pham Van Dong and several other Politburo members, held a meeting at K9. President Ho and his companions discussed the international and domestic situation following the Gulf of Tonkin incident (August 5, 1964) and several issues concerning people's air defense. President Ho also received many international guests at this location. This was also the site where President Ho Chi Minh's remains were preserved from 1969 to 1975.

A reporter from Nghe An Newspaper captured some images of the exemplary delegates from Nghe An province, who are studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, visiting K9:
