Nghe An students won 4 Gold Medals at the English Math Competition

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An has 12 excellent students selected from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Ly Nhat Quang Middle School and Dang Thai Mai Middle School to participate in this contest. At the end of the contest, all 12/12 students won prizes.

This morning (April 5), the Hanoi Open Mathematics Competition 2019 (HOMC 2019) was closed at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. 100% of Nghe An students participating in this competition won prizes.

The contest is divided into 2 age groups: Junior (8th and 9th graders) and Senior (10th graders). In this contest, all contestants solve math problems in English.

12/12 Nghe An students won medals, 6 of them were from the Senior team. Of these, 4 students won Gold Medals including: Tang Quynh Ngan, Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Nguyen Hoang Lam, Nguyen Sy Trong. The remaining two students, Nguyen Dang Duc and Hoang Thi Le Tra, won Silver Medals. All of them are students of class 10A1, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

In the Junior team for 8th and 9th graders, Nghe An delegation also won 6 medals, with 5 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal. In which, Silver medals belonged to Nguyen Cong Khanh, Nguyen Quoc Bao Long (Dang Thai Mai Secondary School - Vinh City), Truong Cong Canh, Nguyen Phuong Uyen, Dang Huu Khanh (Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School - Do Luong). The remaining Bronze medal belonged to Truong Quang Manh (Dang Thai Mai Secondary School).

This year's results of Nghe An delegation are considered better than last year in both quantity and quality of awards.

This is the 16th time the competition has been held with the participation of Vietnamese delegations and 13 other countries, including: Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Nepal, Philippines, Hungary, Iran, Myanmar, Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and UAE.

According to the competition regulations, international student groups compete in Group A. Group B is for contestants from 24 provinces and cities of Vietnam, from junior high schools, high schools, and specialized high schools affiliated with universities.
