Nghe An delegation won high prize at National Traffic Safety Competition

(Baonghean.vn) - The contest “Traffic safety for tomorrow’s smiles” is organized annually by the Ministry of Education and Training. The award ceremony was held this morning, March 17, in Da Nang City.

The "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smiles" contest was launched in November 2017 for both teachers and students at secondary and high schools. The 60 best contestants (including teachers and students) were selected to attend the final round held in Da Nang.

Participating in this year's contest, surpassing 43,945 entries from teachers nationwide, teacher Chu Song Hao - Co Do High School (Nghia Dan) was one of 7 excellent teachers to win First Prize; teacher Dau Minh Nghia - Teacher of Tan Ky High School won Second Prize.

Le Thi Thanh Vinh, class 10A3 - Co Do High School also won second prize.

With this outstanding result, at the summary meeting this morning, Nghe An was one of 10 units honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training along with other provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Tho, Ca Mau, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Dong Nai, Bac Ninh.

Through many years of organization, this is also the year with the most outstanding achievements of Nghe An delegation.

The competition for high school students was launched in 63 provinces and cities nationwide. Contestants had to go through two rounds.

For students, round 1: Written test on traffic safety knowledge (submit at the facility) and round 2 is an exchange to learn about knowledge and skills in participating in safe traffic, for students with excellent entries in round 1 (held centrally in Da Nang City).

For teachers, in order to win this contest, in addition to writing about traffic safety knowledge and sharing teaching experiences (round 1), contestants must also develop lesson plans and teach experimentally (directly in the final round).

At the secondary school level, the contest is currently only piloted in some provinces and cities, and secondary school students in Nghe An have not yet participated in this contest.
