Nghe An delegation ranked 19th/65 delegations at the 8th National Sports Festival
(Baonghean.vn) - At the end of the 8th National Sports Festival in 2018, Nghe An Sports delegation won 8 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 21 bronze medals, ranking 19th out of 65 provincial, municipal and sectoral sports delegations nationwide.

From December 7-9, 2018, Nghe An Sports Delegation competed in the last 2 events of the 14 events at the Games, winning 2 more gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. Of which, Sepak Takraw won 2 gold medals (Women's team and Men's doubles); 1 silver medal (Women's team); 2 bronze medals (Men's team and Women's doubles). Soccer, competing in the final with the host team Hanoi, won a silver medal.
At the end of the competition at the Congress, Nghe An Sports delegation won 8 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 21 bronze medals, ranking 19th out of 65 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide participating in the Congress.

Accordingly, the province was awarded the Excellent Unit Flag by the Congress Steering Committee (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) (1/15 provinces awarded the flag by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism out of 65 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide organizing the Congress); awarded 7 Certificates of Merit to the following localities: Anh Son, Do Luong, Tan An commune (Tan Ky district), Chau Thuan commune (Quy Chau district), Dien Ngoc commune (Dien Chau district), Nghi Long commune (Nghi Loc district), Vinh Tan Ward (Vinh City) with outstanding achievements in organizing the Sports Congress at all levels in 2017-2018;
