On July 10, all 12 players of the "Wild Boars" youth soccer team and their assistant coach were rescued from the cave safely after 17 days trapped.
The dramatic rescue that captured the attention of the world has been compared by many to breathtaking Hollywood movies.
According to Australia's News, American producers are planning a movie about the rescue that is expected to be a blockbuster. "I see it as a Hollywood blockbuster with A-list stars," said Michael Scott, managing partner of Pure Flix.
Scott and co-producer Adam Smith conducted preliminary interviews.
The two producers also plan to bring in a screenwriter and interview key members of the rescue team, including foreign experts and Thai Navy SEALs, along with the trapped players and their families, to gain exclusive access to their stories.
Asked whether the move could be seen as insensitive at such a sensitive time, Smith replied: "There will be other production companies coming so we have to act quickly."
Scott, whose wife is Thai, lives in Thailand for three months each year. He insists he doesn't pressure people about interviews.
“I told them: When this is all over, sit down and have an in-depth interview about what really happened,” Scott said.
