“The president-elect has not yet officially taken office and is still in the process of establishing his position on a range of issues, so we are not overly concerned with any actions or statements at this time,” the American Chamber of Commerce in China said in a statement.
"The Association has long supported the maintenance of stability in the region, and we expect the new administration to respect the status quo. American businesses operating in Asia need certainty and stability, and the new administration needs to quickly achieve that amid ongoing tensions and complexities in the region.
On December 3, the phone call between US President-elect Donald Trump and Taiwanese leader Tsai Ing-wen lasted 10 minutes. This is the first time a US president or president-elect has had a phone call with a Taiwanese leader since 1979, when then US President Jimmy Carter recognized the "One China" policy, thereby severing diplomatic relations with Taiwan./.
