Revenue from large fields increases by 22-28% compared to mass production

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of May 17, Hung Nguyen district held a workshop to evaluate the production results of large fields of high-quality rice in the 2017 Spring crop.

In the spring crop of 2017, Hung Nguyen produced 11 large fields (CĐL) in the production of high-quality commercial rice associated with the application of new scientific and technological advances.

Through this form of production, evaluate the potential and adaptability of new rice varieties to add to the structure, proactively select good varieties for large-scale production, and form a commercial rice production area.

Delegates attending the workshop visited the field to produce rice varieties SV181, Lam Son 8, VT-NA6 and Thien Uu 8, in which, except for Thien Uu8, the remaining three rice varieties were planted for the first time in Hung Nguyen fields.

According to initial assessment, the rice varieties are adaptable to many types of soil, tolerant to intensive farming, have good yield potential, good rice quality, and are suitable for commodity production criteria.

Initially, farmers have accessed new, highly intensive technical processes. Applying the SRI improved rice cultivation program has reduced seed costs, balanced fertilization, water regulation and high economic efficiency. Forming the habit of collecting used pesticide packaging into tanks according to regulations, minimizing environmental pollution. Some localities have well organized and implemented the construction of CĐL, most participating households have well applied the technical process; effectively directed the prevention of rice blast and leaf blight.

The rice varieties used to build the CĐL are all short-term varieties (Spring crop 120-130 days), of which SV181 is the shortest-term variety, which can be structured in both intensive and flooded summer-autumn areas. High potential and yield can reach 65-70 quintals/ha; Good rice quality, long, white grains, soft rice and fragrant aroma. From there, the efficiency of the CĐLs has increased productivity by 6.6-10.6%, and revenue by 22-28% compared to mass production. All three new varieties can be added to the main structure in the area.

Concluding the workshop, Mr. Ngo Phu Han, Chairman of the District People's Committee concluded: Requesting communes and towns to direct and guide farmers to produce according to the SRI improved rice cultivation process, the Integrated Nutrition and Pest Management Program (ICM-3 reductions, 3 increases). Allocate funds from the economic development career source, integrate investment sources to organize the replication of the CĐL model towards commodity production in the following crops. At the same time, requesting businesses to closely coordinate with localities, link investments in building CĐL for commodity production, and purchase products for farmers.
