During the move, many car owners are not careful and dent their cars, making them look ugly. However, instead of going to car salons, you can fix dents and dents yourself with items available right at home.

Instant noodle

Instant noodles are one of the most popular fast food in the world. Not only can they help you relieve hunger, instant noodles can also be used to repair cars. This may sound absurd, but it is true.

A video posted on Reddit shows a car repair shop in Russia successfully testing a way to repair a hole in a car bumper using... instant noodles.

In May, a Chinese man went viral on social media with videos of him repairing household appliances using foods like instant noodles, rice, and biscuits. Notably, he used instant noodles to fix a dent on a supercar.

Hot water

Many parts of the car are made of plastic. When the car is damaged by a collision, you can use high temperatures to help the plastic expand and then return it to its original shape. Therefore, boiling water can almost completely fix dents and distortions on the car.

How to do it: First, pour boiling water on the dented part to expand the plastic, then put your hand behind the bumper and push it out. If the dent is in a position that cannot be reached from the inside, do it this way: when you pour out the boiling water, immediately pour ice water on the dent, the sudden change in temperature will make the dent return to normal.

High temperature helps the plastic expand and then returns it to its original shape.

This is a fairly simple way to deal with dents. However, you should only apply it to the front and rear bumpers of the car that are made of plastic.

Hair dryer and compressed air tank

Similar to using boiling water, but when using a hair dryer combined with cold air from a spray bottle, you will increase the effectiveness achieved.

First, turn on the hair dryer at the highest setting and heat the dented part for about 2-3 minutes, then turn the bottle upside down and spray on the heated area. Turning the bottle upside down will let the coldest air in the bottle escape. When the hot air meets the cold air, the plastic part will pop out and return to its original shape.

Hair dryer and dry ice

Car dents caused by collisions can be restored to their original shape with simple items like a hair dryer and dry ice.

Use a hair dryer to heat the area for about 1 to 2 minutes. Keep the heat at medium, keep the dryer 14 to 18 cm from the surface; and move the dryer continuously, do not focus on one area for too long because it can damage the paint. Then, cover the dented area with aluminum foil (used in cooking) and use a piece of dry ice to rub around the area. The aluminum foil protects the coating from the low temperature of the dry ice. The temperature difference will cause the metal to return to its original shape.

However, this method only works for dents on metal plates and is small in size; the dent is on a flat surface.

Vacuum cleaner and hopper

Use tape to connect the vacuum cleaner head to the funnel to make sure it is completely sealed. Then tape the funnel so that it covers the dent on the car.

After the gluing process is complete, turn on the vacuum cleaner at the strongest vacuum mode. This method also helps to quickly handle the dent on the car body.

Silicone glue, wood block and screw

This method will be very effective for large and "stubborn" dents. First, you need to prepare some cylindrical or square wooden blocks, a silicone gun and a screw driver (the kind with a pointed tip and a slot).

Then screw a nail through the block of wood to act as a fulcrum for your fingers, then apply silicone glue to each block of wood and stick them into the dent, wait for the glue to dry, and finally ask a few friends to help pull them out.

The best results are achieved when you pull these blocks out at the same time, because the force will be distributed evenly across the surface of the dent. At this point, the stubborn dent has disappeared, restoring the beauty of your car.

Hard metal bar with curved end

If the dent is in a place where you can insert a metal rod, use the curved end of the metal rod to apply pressure to remove the dent. This is a very simple method, but it is very effective.

Note: The above methods are only partially effective. If your car is seriously damaged, the only way left is to take it to a garage for repair staff to fix, weld and repaint the dents.
