Unique Christmas tree made from thousands of tires welcomes Christmas in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - After nearly a month of construction, the massive Christmas tree with wheels has been completed. This is a unique Christmas 2021 project of the parishioners of Luu My parish, Tru Son commune (Do Luong).

Over the years, every year GparishLuu My also designed a new, unique and strange project to welcome Christmas. This year, the parish has just completed a large pine tree called "tire pine tree" which is over 20 meters high, standing tall on the right side of the church. To make this Christmas tree, the parish gathered a large number of scrap tires (nearly 1,000) from contributions from parishioners who traveled by motorbike from the South to the locality to avoid the epidemic, motorbike repair shops in the area, and people... Photo: Huy Thu

The pine tree stands firmly on four pairs of steel columns about 3.5m high. The top of the pine tree is a pot of medicine and a cross. The bottom of the pine tree is decorated with large letters: Luu My Parish, Em ma nuel... In the middle of the four columns of the pine tree is a statue of the baby Jesus about 2.5m high. What is special is that the bust of the baby Jesus is made from old tires and foam. The tire Christmas tree was designed by the parish priest Luu My - Hoang Trung Hoa and constructed by the parish workers. Mr. Tran Cong Phuong - a young man who constructed the Christmas tree said: To complete the work, the construction team had to worry a lot, many details on the Christmas tree had to be fixed and re-fixed to make the tire Christmas tree have the most harmonious beauty. Talking about this unique pine tree, priest Hoang Trung Hoa shared: This year, the Covid-19 pandemic has developed complicatedly, all aspects of social life have encountered many difficulties, millions of people working far away have had to make pilgrimages to their hometowns to avoid the epidemic... The parish's Christmas tree, covered with tires, speaks of that hardship. However, in times of trouble, there is still human warmth, that is, sharing, helping, and supporting each other during the pandemic. The image of the pot of medicine on top of the pine tree, the green background and the blue sky in the painting all express the hope that the epidemic will be controlled, pushed back, and people's lives will soon return to peace.
