Mr. Lo Xu Lin - a village elder in Pieng Hom village said: The main purpose of the Flower and Fruit Festival is for descendants to show gratitude to their ancestors. In the lowlands, there is the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, Vu Lan festival, but the Thai people insist on celebrating the Flower and Fruit Festival just for the purpose of showing filial piety.
