Two friends assigned to receive and transport drugs both sentenced to life in prison
(Baonghean.vn) - Being hired by a person to transport drugs, Chuong and Tuan decided to do it together. Although they had clearly assigned each other their roles, both were arrested by the police and sentenced to life in prison.
Nghe An Provincial People's Court has just opened a first-instance criminal trial to try two defendants Hoang Chuong (born 1987), residing in Bui La Nhan commune, Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh) and Dinh Quang Tuan (born 1971), residing in Duc Tho town, Duc Tho district, for the crime of "Illegally transporting narcotics".
According to the case file, on March 19, 2021, Dinh Quang Tuan received a phone call from a stranger hiring him to transport drugs fromThanh Thuy border gate,Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) to Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh). Tuan agreed and invited Hoang Chuong to join.
Early the next morning, the two subjects divided the work, Chuong would drive the motorbike to the border gate area first, while Tuan would drive the car later.

At the area with the sign “forest protection” about 3km from Thanh Thuy border gate, Tuan received a backpack containing drugs from a strange man. Then, Tuan gave the drugs to Chuong to transport by motorbike, while he drove the car home first.
While Chuong was traveling in Thanh Thuy commune, he was arrested by the authorities with more than 1.7 kg of drugs. Based on Chuong's statement, the investigation agency arrested Tuan.
At the trial, the two defendants Dinh Quang Tuan and Hoang Chuong confessed to their illegal drug trafficking and asked the court to consider reducing their sentences.
After a comprehensive review of the case, the People's Court sentenced the two defendants Dinh Quang Tuan and Hoang Chuong to life in prison for the crime of Illegally transporting narcotics.
