Two former prisoners decided to rob a motorbike taxi driver.

(Baonghean.vn)- While going to a beach for a drink, two former prison friends met. After a series of debauchery, in order to have money to pay for girls and personal shopping, they discussed committing robberies.Their target is motorbike taxi drivers.

Nguyen Van Dung and Ho Trong Tai are two subjects with criminal records that have not been cleared. Dung has one previous conviction for robbery, and Tai has one previous conviction for illegal possession of drugs. During their prison sentences, Dung and Tai shared a cell, then were released from prison in 2015 and each went their separate ways.

In early 2017, during a debauchery at Xuan Thanh beach, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province, they met each other by chance. To have money to spend and pay for prostitutes, they discussed committing robberies. In February and March 2017 alone, Nguyen Van Dung and Ho Trong Tai committed 4 robberies of motorbike taxi drivers, causing panic among the masses.

The incident happened at 6:00 p.m. on March 5, Dung and Tai discovered Mr. Tran Van Nam (born in 1965), residing in Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city, working as a motorbike taxi driver, waiting for customers in the area of ​​​​Oncology Hospital, Vinh city. They asked Mr. Nam to take them to hamlet 8, Nghi Lien commune, Vinh city. When they arrived at Nghi Lien commune at about 6:30 p.m., they asked them to take them to the cemetery area of ​​hamlet 8 to burn incense for their relatives.

When Mr. Nam had just parked his motorbike, they took out a 5,000 VND bill and said: "If you have small change, please give me back my change. I only have 500,000 VND bills." When Mr. Nam had just taken out his wallet to get his change, they used force to attack him. Dung took Mr. Nam's motorbike with license plate 37B2-706.38 worth 15 million VND, while Tai stole his leather wallet, which contained 700,000 VND along with his personal papers and motorbike registration.

Using the same trick, at about 5:00 p.m. on March 11, at the Hanoi hotel area in Nghi Huong ward, Cua Lo town, knowing that Mr. Nguyen Chu Hong (born in 1960), residing in Nghi Khanh commune, Nghi Loc district, working as a motorbike taxi driver, was waiting for customers, two subjects came and offered to take him to the cemetery in hamlet 8, Nghi Lien commune, then took from Mr. Hong a motorbike with license plate 37B2-028.61, an Iphone 4S mobile phone, and a leather wallet containing 460,000 VND along with personal documents and motorbike registration.

Considering the dangerous and reckless nature of the subject, on March 12, 2017, the Vinh City Police Department established a Project with code number 317X to investigate and clarify. During the process of fighting the Project, through the synchronous use of professional measures, combined with the work of examining the scene, checking the number of criminal subjects and released prisoners.

In just a short time, the Task Force had enough basis to identify the perpetrators of the robberies of two motorbike taxi drivers named Nguyen Van Dung (born 1991), residing in Hamlet 8, Nghi Lien Commune, Vinh City, and Ho Trong Tai (born 1990), residing in Lam Thanh Hamlet, Son Trung Commune, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province.

However, through the investigation, it was found that the two subjects Dung and Tai were not present in the locality. When they learned that the Vinh City Police Criminal Investigation Department was searching for them, Tai and Dung fled to Quang Binh province and then returned to Vinh City to continue committing crimes.

Specifically, at around 9:00 p.m. on March 23, 2017, Tai and Dung asked Le Minh Tuan (born in 1974), residing in Hung Binh ward, Vinh city, a motorbike taxi driver, to take him to Duc Thuy commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, then strangled and controlled Tuan, taking a Nokia mobile phone, a wallet, and a motorbike with license plate 37B2-673.91.

At the Duc Tho District Police Station, Ha Tinh Province, Mr. Tuan stated: At around 7 p.m. on March 23, he was waiting for a customer at Vinh Station when two young men hired him to take him to Duc Tho for 150,000 VND. Because it was dark, he could not remember the characteristics of the subjects. When he reached a deserted road, one subject grabbed his neck, while the other subject searched his wallet. Through the motorbike's headlights, he only vaguely saw that the person checking his wallet had 3 star-shaped tattoos on his arm.

They were very reckless and daring, so the leaders of Duc Tho District Police established a Project code CTS0317 to investigate and arrest the criminals. Through the investigation and collection of documents, on March 25, Vinh City Police coordinated with the Police of Duc Tho, Huong Son, Nghi Xuan districts, Hong Linh Town Police, and the Criminal Police Department of Ha Tinh Province Police to urgently arrest two suspects, Ho Trong Tai and Nguyen Van Dung, who were the perpetrators of the robberies mentioned above when they were present at Xuan Thanh beach, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province.

At the investigation agency, the two subjects confessed that since the end of February 2017, they had committed 4 robberies of motorbike taxi drivers in Duc Tho district, Nghi Xuan and Vinh city. The method of the subjects was to take advantage of the darkness, the lack of vigilance and trust of the victims, they pretended to hire a ride to a deserted area with no passersby, 1 subject strangled, 1 subject searched the wallet, phone, took the motorbike and escaped.

They sold all the stolen property, then went to Xuan Thanh beach to indulge in debauchery. After a week of verification and following the suspects' statements, on April 14, Duc Tho District Police and Vinh City Police confiscated 4 motorbikes, 2 mobile phones, and 11,100,000 VND, which were related to the case. Currently, Duc Tho District Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision to prosecute the accused and a temporary detention order for the above 2 suspects to continue expanding the investigation./.
