The Faculty of Physical Education team (Hue University) won the championship.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of May 11th, the final match between the Faculty of Physical Education (Hue University) and the Vietnam-Korea College of Technology took place at the Military Region 4 Stadium, followed by the awards ceremony for the 7th Huda Cup Student Football Tournament 2013.

Attendees included: Comrade To Hong Hai - Member of the Standing Committee - Head of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from the leadership of the 4th Military Region Command; Nghe An Radio and Television Station; and leaders of Hue Beer Company Limited (the main sponsor).

The Huda Cup Student Football Tournament is an annual event organized by Hue Beer Company Limited in collaboration with Nghe An Radio and Television Station and the 4th Military Region Headquarters. This year's final round took place from May 6-11, 2013, bringing together 8 outstanding teams from the qualifying rounds of provinces in the Central region (Hong Duc University - Thanh Hoa; Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology (Nghe An); Vinh University; Ha Tinh Medical College; Quang Binh University; Hue University of Science; Faculty of Physical Education - Hue University; and Duy Tan University (Da Nang).

Comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station and representatives of Hue Beer Company Limited presented flowers to congratulate the two teams.

The final round was divided into two groups, playing a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The matches were exciting, with many great plays that pleased the fans. The players competed with a high spirit and dedication, providing spectators with thrilling matches until the very last minute. Some matches truly delighted the fans with their professional and fair play.

Fifty goals were scored in 14 matches, reflecting the increasingly high quality of the tournament. These goals were contributed by forwards with commendable goal-scoring abilities such as: Le Tuan (Duy Tan University); Dau Trong Tuan Anh (Vinh University); and Ta Xuan Hung (Viet-Korean College). In addition, many players in the goalkeeper, defender, and midfield positions from various schools displayed intelligent, strong, and effective play that deserves praise.

With 15 dramatic and exciting matches, the tournament contributed to heating up Vinh City during the vibrant summer days, attracting the attention and participation of football fans in Nghe An province. Through 7 successful seasons held on football fields throughout Central Vietnam, the Huda Cup Student Football Tournament has truly been a beneficial and attractive playground for young people, contributing to promoting the physical training and sports movement among students and spreading it to the entire community.

The final match was a dramatic affair between the Faculty of Physical Education (Hue University) and the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology, with the first half ending 0-0. However, the home team, the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology, consistently put pressure on the visiting team. In the second half, the balance of power shifted as the Faculty of Physical Education (Hue University) regained their form, aiming to maintain a steady pace for the final match of the season.

The efforts of the team from Hue were deservedly rewarded. A final score of 2-0 secured the championship title for the Faculty of Physical Education (Hue University), winning the Huda Cup, the 7th Student Football Tournament in 2013. The teams from Vinh University and Duy Tan University (Da Nang City) shared third place.

During the awards ceremony, the organizers also presented several additional awards for the best referee team (commissioning the final match), the most enthusiastic fan club (Vietnam-Korea College of Technology), the most stylish team (Hue University of Science), the best player (Le Dinh Chung, Vietnam-Korea College team), the top scorer (Le Tuan - number 9, Duy Tan University team), and the best goalkeeper (Nguyen Phuong Nam, Faculty of Physical Education team - Hue University).
