Economic innovation in cooperation associated with the goal of building new rural areas

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 12, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to the draft directive of the Provincial Party Committee on innovation and development of cooperative economy in agriculture and rural areas associated with the goal of building new rural areas in the province in the period of 2016-2020. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

In recent years, the Cooperative Economy has made significant contributions to the socio-economic development and rural agriculture of Nghe An. Agricultural cooperatives in the area have attracted tens of thousands of members, with annual output value of goods and services reaching over 1,000 billion VND, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers.

In order for the cooperative economy to develop commensurate with its potential, actively contributing to the cause of industrialization and new rural construction, in line with the integration trend, in the period of 2016-2020, the Provincial Standing Committee requests Party committees at all levels, authorities, fronts and organizations to focus on leading and directing the implementation of the Resolution, making the cooperative economy in agriculture a truly important economic component, linking the cooperative economy with economic restructuring.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Lam, Deputy Chief of Office of the Steering Committee for New Rural Construction, proposed to add more results of the cooperatives' activities in the past time.

It is necessary to create strong changes in both quantity and quality of agricultural cooperatives. Develop appropriate support mechanisms and policies to encourage the development of collective economy. Prioritize annual funding from the national target program on building new rural areas so that each year there are at least 3 models of agricultural cooperatives associated with effective new rural construction.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to seriously absorb the comments of relevant sectors and coordinate with Party committees to focus on completing the draft. It is necessary to add more specific results of the operation of the cooperative system, especially after the renovation according to the 2012 Cooperative Law; clearly state the shortcomings and causes of poor performance... to soon submit to the Provincial People's Committee in the next session.
