(Baonghean.vn) - Visiting Na Cay village, Tien Phong commune (Que Phong district), the first impression is the lush green rice fields, the airy concrete roads, and the well-built houses of the villagers. Even more interesting is when the commune leaders introduce this village as being home to three ethnic groups: Thai, Kinh, and Khmu…

Explaining the transformation of the village, the Party Secretary of Na Cay, Lu Van Quy, shared: "This is thanks to the change in awareness and the spirit of solidarity and mutual support in eradicating poverty and gradually building a new rural area among the ethnic people in the area."

Following the 2019 merger, Na Cay village has 242 households and 1,117 inhabitants from three ethnic groups: Thai, Khmu, and Kinh, living together with different customs, traditions, and production methods. Life remains difficult, educational levels are uneven, and the poverty rate is high. In response to this reality, the Party Branch and the Management Board of Na Cay village have actively propagated and encouraged the people to actively plant forests and develop buffalo and cattle farming.

For example, Mr. Vi Van Thanh's household in Team 3, through the Social Policy Bank's loan program for near-poor households, boldly borrowed 50 million VND in 2020 to invest in buying 3 breeding buffaloes. To date, his family's total buffalo herd has increased to 12.

Many other households, led by Party members, have also boldly sought ways to escape poverty, such as the household of Mr. Vi Van Duyen, who bought additional land to expand his livestock farm, raising an average of 20 cows, growing cassava, and engaging in trading services; and the household of Mr. Vi Van Nam, who built a model of integrated farming (pigs, chickens, cows, etc.) combined with business and trade. Some households have risen to economic development, earning incomes of 70-200 million VND per year, typical examples being the households of Lu Duy Than, Vi Van Nam, Vi Van Duyen, etc.

With a large area divided into 4 residential clusters associated with 4 production teams, to facilitate management and mobilization, the Party Branch and Management Board of Na Cay village decided to provide a monthly allowance of 200,000 - 400,000 VND per person to the team leaders, deputy team leaders, and deputy heads of mass organizations who do not receive allowances from the state budget (the support funds are drawn from the village's fund). The Party Branch and Management Board maintain contact through the team leaders and mass organizations... This has encouraged a spirit of dedication to the common good among those who are selfless and work for the community.

Besides economic development and poverty reduction, thanks to being close to the people, respecting the people, listening to the people, and building a spirit of solidarity and consensus among ethnic groups, the emulation movements in Na Cay village have been enthusiastically embraced by the villagers.

Typical examples include the movement to donate land and trees to pave internal village roads with concrete and four internal field roads, facilitating travel and production. “In 2022, the village mobilized people to contribute to building over 1,000 meters of street lighting throughout the village and constructing an 850 square meter football field.”2Serving the physical fitness and sports needs of the people.

"In 2023, the village mobilized residents to contribute 300,000 VND per household to build a nearly 600-meter-long power line along the main road, and plans are currently underway to build a road in Production Team No. 4, approximately 800 meters long. Currently, 80% of rural roads in Na Cay village have been concreted," Secretary Lu Van Quy happily informed.

According to the Party Committee and the Management Board of the Na Cay Party Branch, with the pioneering and exemplary spirit of "leading the way so that the people follow" of the 52 Party members in the branch and the unity and solidarity of the people of all ethnic groups in the area, Na Cay is determined to achieve the goal of building a new rural village in 2024. At the same time, it aims to maintain its achievement of more than 10 years of outstanding performance, striving to recruit an average of 1-2 new Party members each year; and to be a leading village in all local movements and activities.
