Dialogue and answers to Social Insurance and Health Insurance policies in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The conference aims to promptly support, answer and advise employees and employers on difficulties and problems in the process of participating in and enjoying the policies of Social Insurance, Health Insurance and Unemployment Insurance.
On the morning of April 27, in Vinh city, Vietnam Social Security organized a conference to dialogue and consult on social insurance and health insurance policies with employees and employers in industrial parks and export processing zones in Nghe An province.

Attending the conference were representatives of a number of units under the Vietnam Social Security. On the Nghe An province side, there were representatives of the Social Security leadership, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Provincial Labor Federation and more than 200 officers in charge of personnel and policy work.Social insurance, grassroots union officials; representatives of workers in industrial parks in Nghe An province.

At the conference, representatives of Vietnam Social Security disseminated a number of new points in the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) such as: Expanding the scope of business owners, business managers, and cooperative managers who do not receive salaries to participate in and enjoy the Social Insurance regime; supplementing the right to enjoy maternity benefits for voluntary Social Insurance; reducing the minimum number of years of Social Insurance contributions from 20 years to 15 years to receive pension.

Also at the conference, representatives of Nghe An Provincial Social Insurance informed about the implementation of Social Insurance and Health Insurance policies in the area; overviewed, updated new points, and provided guidance on legal regulations on Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance policies, and compulsory Social Insurance regimes effective from 2022 and 2023 to businesses.
In particular, the main content is some points to note about the duration of the labor contract to determine the participants of Social Insurance; the roadmap for increasing the retirement age; the rights and responsibilities of enterprises in Article 20 of the Law on Social Insurance 2014, some common violations in enterprises and sanctions for violations of the law on Social Insurance, Health Insurance, some contents of the Draft Law on Social Insurance amendment...

The conference also took time for representatives of employers to raise issues and practical situations in the implementation of Social Insurance, Health Insurance, and Unemployment Insurance policies for clarification and discussion.

On this occasion, Vietnam Social Security conducted a survey to collect opinions from people and businesses on a number of contents in the draft amended and supplemented Law on Social Insurance, which the Government is expected to submit to the National Assembly in the next session.
By the end of March 2023, the whole country had more than 17.4 million people participating in Social Insurance, reaching 37.4% of the working-age workforce; about 14.2 million people participating in Unemployment Insurance; about 90.949 million people participating in Health Insurance, accounting for more than 92% of the population. In Nghe An province alone, 374,019 people participated in Social Insurance, reaching 22.26% of the workforce; 2,870,092 people participated in Health Insurance, reaching 92.25% of the population.
