The old man with the most miserable face on Vietnamese screen

Artist Hong Chuong's real name is Nguyen Hong Chuong, born in 1934 in Hanoi, in a well-educated family with many siblings. His childhood was quite difficult, when he was only 3 years old, his father passed away, and when he was 5, his mother also passed away.

Therefore, since the age of 10, artist Hong Chuong had to work to support his siblings financially, without the opportunity to pursue or develop his artistic talent. However, his passion for acting still burned within him.

The struggle for survival and the need to make a living made artist Hong Chuong gradually forget his passion, working as a railway worker until he was 30 years old, when he was promoted to foreman. His life would have continued like that if he had not accidentally read the newspaper and seen the announcement of recruiting intermediate drama students at the College of Theater and Cinema.

The fire was rekindled, he immediately applied for the exam and was accepted. Although he entered the profession quite late compared to his colleagues, he was not afraid of difficulties, always showing passion and enthusiasm.

Artist Hong Chuong was also in the first graduating class of the Academy of Theatre and Cinema in 1964, the same generation as famous artists such as The Anh, Lam Toi, Tra Giang, and Van Hiep. After graduating, he worked at the Vietnam Drama Theater until his retirement.

In addition to the stage, artist Hong Chuong also left his mark on the screen, through a series of large and small roles in both cinema and television. He participated in many famous movies such asSharing the same river, A Phu couple, 17th parallel day and night.

In the television series, artist Hong Chuong is familiar to audiences through a series of tough, kind, and simple roles, especially grandfather roles. He is called by many audiences as the "most tough grandfather" on screen because every role is so tough that it makes you cry, but he is so kind that everyone sympathizes with him.

Artist Hong Chuong's house is not too large, but still has a full garden, with cool, pleasant trees, creating a peaceful, cool atmosphere in the middle of the city, separate from the noise and crowds outside. He and his wife have lived peacefully in this house for more than half a century.

Artist Hong Chuong is said by his neighbors to be just like he is in the movies, very gentle, living in harmony and friendly with everyone. He receives a lot of affection from the people in the neighborhood, whenever he leaves the house, there will be people shaking hands, smiling and waving to greet him.
