(Baonghean.vn) - After less than 1 hour of online auction, the Captain of the Bien Hoa Robbery Hunting Team (Dong Nai) successfully sold 2 paintings for 38 million VND, to help Luong Van Thao, a student with a broken spine in Quy Chau district.

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung (38 years old) - Captain of the Robbery Hunting Team - Bien Hoa Crime Prevention Club, after learning about the difficult situation of Luong Van Thao (13 years old) in Thuan Lap village, Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district, Nghe An province, who was sick but his family did not have money for treatment or surgery, he immediately found out, verified through relatives and organized a fundraiser to help this boy.

After nearly 2 days of campaigning on the personal page "Let's join hands to help Luong Van Thao" and actively collecting donations in the city, this charitable activity has received a large response from everyone.

On the afternoon of April 17, Mr. Hung decided to auction two more porcelain paintings that a friend in Hanoi gave him three months ago to contribute to the fund.

These two paintings are the same size, 0.8 m wide, 1.2 m long, handmade, made of porcelain, one depicts the beautiful scenery of Hoan Kiem Lake, the other is the scenery of Hoi An ancient town. Mr. Hung auctioned each painting on Facebook with a clear explanation that the purpose of the auction was to help Thao in Nghe An.

After less than an hour of online auction, the first painting sold for 23 million VND, the second for 15 million VND.

Mr. Hung shared: "At first, I thought these two paintings would probably only sell for a few million VND, but in fact they sold for 38 million VND, beyond my expectations. Thank you everyone for your enthusiastic support."

Mr. Hung said that he will organize a fundraiser to help Thao within 1 week, and plans to raise enough money for Thao's family to pay for her spinal surgery - about 130 million VND.

“When the donation ends, I will go to Quy Chau (Nghe An) to directly give this money to Thao’s family. Hopefully, with the help of the community, Thao will soon have spinal surgery and be able to go to school like her friends,” Mr. Hung affirmed.

Talking about his work, the Captain of the Bien Hoa Robbery Hunting Team shared: "Seeing the pitiful medical situations, I want to call for help for the poor, but my main task is to coordinate with my teammates to maintain security and order in the city."

It is known that recently, with his reputation, Mr. Hung has repeatedly called on and mobilized people to help people in difficult situations across the country.
