The suspect who stabbed two police officers has been arrested after five days on the run.
After more than 5 days on the run, fleeing through various locations, Huynh Thanh Phuc (born in 1991), the car thief and the man who stabbed two local police officers, has been apprehended.
On June 5th, information from the Gia Lai Provincial Police stated that the Criminal Investigation Department of the Provincial Police had arrested Huynh Thanh Phuc (born in 1991, residing in Hamlet 7, Phu Thinh Commune, Tan Phu District, Dong Nai Province), a suspect.motorcycle theftHe then used a knife to attack and injure two police officers from Ha Bau commune (Dak Doa district) before fleeing.
Through professional investigative methods, at 7:30 PM on June 4th, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Provincial Police arrested Huynh Thanh Phuc while he was hiding in the Phu Dong ward, Pleiku City, Gia Lai province.
Earlier, at around 9:00 AM on May 30th, the Ha Bau Commune Police received a report from residents about a motorcycle theft in the area. Immediately afterward, Major Pham Quyet Thang - Deputy Head of the Commune Police and Senior Lieutenant Phan Trung Ky - a police officer of the commune, launched an investigation to verify the information and track down the suspect.
At approximately 12:20 PM on the same day, upon spotting a suspicious individual driving a vehicle resembling the one that had been stolen in Dak Somei commune (Dak Doa district), the two police officers requested the driver to stop for inspection.
At this point, the suspect unexpectedly stabbed two police officers, injuring them, then abandoned his motorbike and fled into a local resident's coffee plantation. Afterward, the suspect stole another motorbike from a resident in Dak Doa district and traveled through various locations in Gia Lai and Phu Yen provinces.
Through verification, authorities determined that the person who stabbed two police officers from Ha Bau commune is a recently released convict with a long criminal record. The case is being further investigated and processed by the police according to regulations.
