The suspect who stabbed the bus employee has been apprehended.

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 7th, Colonel Tran Ngoc Tu, Chief of Vinh City Police, announced that the suspect who committed the crime on the bus running the Ha Tinh - Vinh Station route on the afternoon of May 31st has been apprehended.

The suspect, Nguyen Huy Duc (born in 1981, residing in Ha Tinh city, Ha Tinh province), was arrested while hiding in Ninh Binh province. At the police station, Duc confessed that the reason for the crime was a conflict with a bus employee stemming from some unpleasant remarks.

Earlier (on the afternoon of May 31st), bus number 06, license plate 38N 5210, operating on the Ha Tinh – Vinh Station route, picked up a male passenger who had bought a ticket to get off in Hong Linh town near the end of Ha Tinh city. However, when the bus reached this stop, the passenger fell asleep. Believing the bus company hadn't called him, causing him to miss his stop, an argument ensued.

The male passenger then bought another ticket to Vinh City. When the bus reached the Ben Thuy Bridge toll station, the young man suddenly pulled out a knife he had concealed and stabbed Mr. Ho Sy Hoang (22 years old), a bus employee, in the abdomen. Mr. Hoang collapsed on the bus floor and was immediately taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. He was diagnosed with a severed right rib artery and required about a month of treatment (Mr. Hoang has since been discharged).

The crime on the bus was captured by three cameras at the toll station. Specifically, the footage showed the suspect carrying a knife and leaving the bus, heading towards the Lam River dike. Vinh City police subsequently obtained the video footage and focused on verifying and tracking down the perpetrator. After more than a month of tracking, they arrested Nguyen Huy Duc, born in 1981, residing in Ha Tinh City, Ha Tinh Province.

The Vinh City police are currently taking statements from the perpetrator to strengthen the case file and continue investigating to clarify the matter.
