On the afternoon of April 11, Major General Ho Sy Tien, Director of the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes (C45, Ministry of Public Security) said that the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Ninh Province Police had initiated a case and prosecuted two suspects in the case of threatening the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and professional officials of Bac Ninh.

Accordingly, Nguyen Trong Phuong (37 years old, residing in Ba Dinh, Hanoi) was prosecuted for the crime of Terrorism, and Tran Anh Thuan (36 years old, residing in Bac Ninh) was prosecuted for the crime of Failure to report a crime.

Previously, on April 1, the Director of the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes (C45, Ministry of Public Security) detained two subjects who threatened the Chairman of Bac Ninh province and professional officials of Bac Ninh province.

Initially, the two suspects confessed to being employees of several units operating in the field of sand mining, but were not employees of the company licensed to dredge and clear inland waterways and collect products on the Cau River, Bac Ninh province.

Subject Phuong sent threatening messages to leaders of Bac Ninh province with the aim of affecting sand mining activities of licensed companies and fighting over wharfs.

At a press conference on the afternoon of March 16, Mr. Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department "confirmed that there were text messages threatening provincial leaders and officials of some departments and branches". Among the leaders of the province and districts in Bac Ninh who received threatening text messages was Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh - Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, who was threatened by a stranger before Tet.

In addition, there were also leaders of Que Vo district and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; with content such as "Leave others alone to do business", or "You should do it moderately"...
